We are proud to announce our fiscal sponsorship of the Red Adair Foundation! The Adair philosophy begins with the charitable philanthropy of native born Houstonian, Paul "Red" Adair. Best known throughout the United States and beyond as a true American hero for his world-renowned oil well firefighting abilities, Red embraced benevolence where children were concerned, most concertedly, those children who suffered traumatic burn injuries. Red's granddaughter, Sunny Hinson Adair, has formed the Adair Foundation in remembrance of her beloved grandfather in order to continue his legacy of bestowal to children’s charities and fire prevention education. All donations are tax deductible and 100% of net proceeds will benefit children suffering from traumatic burn injuries.
Each year, burn injuries kill or disable an estimated 300,000 people across the United States and internationally. Research shows that most burn injuries are not random “accidents” but are predictable and preventable. Children under the age of five have the highest mortality rate from burn injuries. Statistics also reflect that 95% of fire related burns occur in low and middle class countries such as Southeast Asia, Eastern Mediterranean, and Africa.
The Red Adair Foundation is dedicated to empowering children burn survivors by funding critical burn research and treatment efforts to facilitate recovery as well as the provision of emotional support programs to target the reduction of trauma associated with reintegration to their respective communities. Access to the most advanced medical care and therapy, state-of-the-art equipment and facilities, innovative skin bank labs and survivor networks will provide these children with the opportunity to achieve their full physical, social and psychological potential. Outreach efforts will strongly emphasize educational initiatives by providing children with life saving instruction while also instilling awareness in fire prevention strategies.
